ARTIST APPLICATION

First Fridays on 4th uses a rolling, monthly deadline. You may show at any First Friday by getting your application in by the 15th of the prior month. Here are the deadlines for the 2009 season:

Deadline: April 15, 2009 for May 1st
Deadline: May 15, 2009 for June 5th
Deadline: June 15, 2009 for July 3rd
Deadline: July 15, 2009 for August 7th
Deadline: August 15, 2009 for September 4th

First Fridays on 4th is the City of Santa Rosa’s revamped First Friday Art Walk. This year a collaborative effort between downtown business, local arts institutions, artists and musicians will join together to create a festival Friday night block party that showcases the arts in Santa Rosa.

The focus for the event will be 4th street, along with the arts institutions north of Courthouse Square. Artists and artists’ organization booths and performances will be located in Old Courthouse Square as well as in Historic Railroad Square’s Depot Park.

This year also brings a new, 5-month schedule: May 1st, June 5th, July 3rd, August 7th and September 4th. Also, we open an hour early at 4 PM and continue to the traditional 8PM closing.

To offer artists a better selling environment, we have also instituted some program guidelines. This year, the program is juried. You must submit 3 to 5 labels, including title, media and dimensions, digital images and a jury fee of $25 with your application. We accept jpg and tif formats by email at vkumpfer@srcity.org or on disk. Disks cannot not be returned. One of your images will be chosen to represent you on the website.

Artists will be given a 10’x10’ space in either Courthouse Square or Depot Park. A white tent or umbrella are the only approved coverings! No other color or style of tent is approved. This will increase visibility and professionalism. Also, only black, full length table cloths and wire display panels can be used. Artists will provide their own set up.
